Esther was born and raised in Namatala, Eastern Uganda, growing up in a family deeply affected by conflict and hardship. During the years of violence associated with Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army, Esther lost her father, leaving her mother to raise her alone.

With limited resources and few opportunities, her mother has faced the difficult responsibility of providing for Esther amid poverty and ongoing challenges. Despite these circumstances, she has continued doing everything possible to give her daughter hope and a better life.

Today, Esther has found a safe and caring environment at Dream House Foundation, where she has opportunities to learn, grow, and look toward a brighter future.
