The violence and instability forced her family to leave their home and seek safety elsewhere, eventually settling in Namatala.

Her family arrived with very little, and Barbra was raised by her mother, who struggled to provide food, clothing, education, and other basic needs amid extreme poverty. Despite the difficult circumstances, her mother continued working hard to give Barbra hope and a better future.
